Life Science Washington offers pro bono consultation services to all life science members as well as a one-time consultation for future members. Our consultation program can help with a broad variety of issues facing the life sciences community, including: company formation, intellectual property, regulatory affairs, reimbursement, merger and acquisition strategy, dilutive and non-dilutive funding, pitch practice, business plan review, technology transfer, product design, manufacturing, accounting/finance, and management.

Our medical technology and biotechnology consultant, Chris Porter, Ph.D., has over 35 years of experience in the medical device and biotech industry in both major corporations (3M, Johnson & Johnson, and Pfizer) and early stage medical companies. He is a serial entrepreneur with 42 patents and he has been influential in introducing over 35 medical products.

Geof Baker, our Health IT and Digital Health consultant 25 years of diverse healthcare industry and technology experience as an executive and entrepreneur. Geof raised $15M in capital, founded and sold several healthcare service and software companies. Geof works with early-stage ventures and established technology and service companies on go-to-market (GTM) execution. He enjoys working with startups helping them catalyze product management and sales development efforts, building wider company footprints and finding new paths to market.

Paul LaBarre was a senior technical officer at PATH. His primary focus was accelerating a portfolio of technologies in HIV and malaria diagnostics appropriate for low-resource settings. He was also project director for the Gates Foundation–funded DIAMETER project and principle investigator for the NIH–funded non-instrumented nucleic acid amplification project.
